“When there are no ceilings, the sky’s the limit. So let’s keep going-let’s keep going until every one of the women and girl across the world has the opportunity she deserves to have.” —Hillary Clinton
Before starting why empowering women is so important, let me explain what actually women empowerment stands for. Women empowerment is to motivate and develop women by promoting their participation in all areas and sectors, to build stronger economies, improve their quality of life and bring gender equality with equal amount of opportunities. It is to help them to take their own decisions by breaking all their personal rules that the society and their family has created for them. It is to make them independent in all aspects from thought, mind, decision, wealth and to bring equality in society.
Women empowerment is a tool to develop a nation. Developing one sector of the society and remaining the other sector under-developed, won’t make any difference in the growth of the nation. We need to take each section of the society together in the path of development. Empowering women is the main motto of the development department because an empowered mother with child makes the bright future of any nation.
As we know, India is a popular country well known for it’s culture, heritage, etiquettes, history, landmarks, traditions, religion and many more. But yes, it is also famous for one more thing i.e. male chauvinistic nation. For them, men are much much inferior than women. They are far more better than women in every way.
But it’s not a thing to forget that we belong from a country where in our teachings women are given the place of Goddess and where we worship them. We use the statement, “Bharat Mata” but we often stay unaware of the real meaning of it. It means mother of every Indian whom we have to save and care always. Women are given first priority in India, however they are treated very badly in their home and stays limited to their household stuffs only. They are kept completely unaware of their rights and their own development.
One of the most famous saying by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, “To awaken the people, it is the women who must be awakened. Once she is on the move, the family moves, the village moves, the nation moves”. So, from the above statement it is quiet easy to understand that if the women of your nation is developed, then the development of your nation is a must. So to achieve this thing,we need to destroy the demons killing the rights of women and ethics and values from the society such as honour killing, illiteracy, dowry, rape, female infanticide, inequality, domestic violence, sexual harassment, illegal trafficking, prostitution and many other issues. Discrimination on the basis of gender is something which will bring cultural, social, economic and educational differences in the society, that will push back the growth of the nation.
The most effective remedy to this problem is by providing proper education and providing exact information to them. And making women empowered by ensuring the Right to Equality mentioned in the Constitution of India. So to promote the goal of women empowerment, it should be promoted from childhood in each and every family.
In order to empower women, various steps have been taken by the government to prevent violence, social separation, gender discrimination and abuse against women. They need to be promoted for the survival and proper education of female child to really bring the dream of women empowerment come true. And it is the duty of every citizen of our country to respect their right and let them help to come out of the shackles of restrictions.
“There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish.” —Michelle Obama
It’s for every women, just have faith over yourself and you can get anything from life irrespective of the support you think you will find from others. Love yourself and always move forward with a faith over your capabilities. Have faith so that you can achieve whatever you opt for. And don’t stay silent against any injustice and have the guts to speak up for your own well-being. There’s nothing in this world which you can’t achieve if you have the will power. No boundations can be more powerful, than your own WILL.
At this present world, women are stepping in every sector of the society in every possible profession and leaving their tremendous footstep for other men to follow them. Starting from stepping to moon to sports and winning medals in OLYMPIC to fighting with enemy in borders, women have already conquered every sector with flying colors. One important thing every women needs to remember is to be yourself and don’t be afraid to fight with yourself too to achieve what you dream.
